Are you looking for Clickbank marketing secrets? When I first started out with affiliate marketing I used Clickbank. Clickbank can be a great source of digital products which fit your niche. And if you already have a following, it’s a great way to monetise your existing audience.
Still, Clickbank can be tough too; especially if you’re just starting out. There’s plenty of competition out there for organic content; so it can be difficult to get noticed. Here’s a few simple Clickbank marketing secrets which can work if you’re just starting out.
Clickbank Marketing Secrets – Clickbank Engine
Cbengine is a useful place to start when choosing your Clickbank products. It shows you the top Clickbank products according to any criteria you search for.
I find using recurring income affiliate programs works well when you start making sales. With recurring income products, your work keeps paying you even after the initial sale. It’s a smart way to do affiliate marketing. For what amounts to the same amount of work, you can earn a lot more over time with a recurring income product. So if you’re going to be working selling any product, why not choose those which reward you more?
Even with recurring income products from the likes of Clickbank though, you’ll have to focus on cheaper or free marketing strategies. Unless you have a high ticket program to offer, it’s going to be difficult getting traction with paid marketing strategies. See Clickbank autopilot for some cheap paid marketing strategies.
Clickbank Marketing Secrets – Long Tail Traffic
It’s tough finding free traffic from Google with most keywords nowadays. However, one strategy you can use is to find long tail keywords which offer less competition than the rest. You can also build niche websites around certain keywords and also build city specific websites which rank on the top!
With long tail keywords you can use Google’s keyword tool to build content targeted around your main search criteria. Look for those keywords which relate specifically to your product. Good ones to look for are review, pdf, loopholes, download, blueprint and other such obscure words which offer much less competition.
If you choose a specific product to promote, try typing in your product keywords into the keyword planner and see what comes up. Compare the results with a quick Google search to see how competitive your keywords are.
Let’s take Synergy Spanish – a Learn Spanish product on Clickbank. Look for suitable keywords which come up when you type in the main keywords into the Google keyword planner.
Then use these keywords to compare the relative competition you find on Google search with and without “quotes”.
Find the lowest competing keywords which are both targeted to your product and which offer the least competition. Practice writing content and building niche websites around these keywords.
This takes some practice and your content needs to be better than the competition. But it’s a strategy which can work if you keep at it for long enough.
Using YouTube & Clickbank
YouTube can be used in a similar way with Clickbank products too. When searching YouTube for your product name and keywords, you’ll find keyword suggestions come up in the search box. Create videos and title them with keywords based on these ones. Then you’ll already have people searching for your videos.
In YouTube you’ve also got a lot of space to fill in a description of your videos. Use this space as much as possible with your blog post content and link to your written content. It’s a good way to double up on your organic content to create both a video and a blog post at the same time.
Build A Niche Website
Building a niche website can work wonders with Clickbank products. Ideally, find a product you want to build a site around. Choose a topic which you have a passion for or interest in. That way you can keep creating content in that niche without needing it to be a huge drama! If you choose a topic you’re not interested in, it’s much more difficult to keep going.
You can build a niche website by choosing a domain name which relates to your main topic. It can also have some major seed keywords in it. This site, for example has a few important keywords in it which helps it rank for those specific keywords. You’ll still need to create some great content of course but a keyword focused domain can help you with the search engines to get some free traffic.
So what’s the fastest legit way to make money online? I wanted the answer to this question several years ago and tried all sorts: Forex trading, affiliate marketing, buying and selling, ebook creation and earning from website advertising too. All in all it took me years before I found (what I think) is the fastest legit way to making money online.
If I had the knowledge back then, I could’ve saved myself years and a lot of money too! But it’s about the journey and not just the destination. I’m still on that journey too, and haven’t “made” it yet, whatever that means! This is my journey…
Fastest Legit Way To Make Money Online – Forex
Forex marketing is a great way to use leverage. My father had taken an interest and I borrowed his Forex trading course. I thought this was “it” and studied for a couple of years. The main problem with trading Forex is that it’ll take at least a couple of years before you know what you’re doing. Most will blow their trading bank long before this of course.
I didn’t really have a “bank” of cash which I wasn’t emotionally attached to back then either. I mostly lost money and realised I really needed an income and trading bank. So I put a “pin” in it and decided I would return some time in the future when I had money to invest. It didn’t happen.
Some people can make trading Forex work for them but it didn’t for me. It’s certainly not fast and takes a lot of time and patience. After the Forex outing I switched to an eBay business after finding an eBook about how to make money from eBay.
Fastest Legit Way To Make Money Online – eBay
I bought and downloaded an ebook about making money from eBay. The ebook was also from eBook – I’ll come back to that in a minute. The basic premise for the eBay strategy I used was to find cheap items which sold for less than their worth. There’s lots of ways to earn from eBay and I looked at a few strategies. But the main one I got working for me was the misspell items one.
Find items on eBay using a misspell tool which had a low starting bid
Wait until the last possible minute (second) and bid snipe (using an auction sniper tool) to get the lowest possible price and avoid pushing the price up
Re-list the item with a better title (spelt correctly), pictures and listing.
Make a profit on the difference.
This is a pretty fast strategy really and you can find items of various prices and value. However, I got fed up with this eventually because I was spending a lot of time searching eBay and there was others doing the same thing. This made it more difficult to find those “gems” which were selling for stupidly low prices. I made a profit on many items though, but it wasn’t automated or scalable. I was convinced that the internet offered a better strategy.
Fastest Legit Way To Make Money Online – Selling eBooks
I looked back to the ebook I had purchased originally which had taught me the eBay strategy. It seemed so simple; here was an automated sale. The eBook owner had created the ebook himself and set up a listing on eBay. He could sell the same book over and over since it was a digital product. I knew this was the future of earning online – automation and digital products (more on this later). So I set about creating my own ebook and tried selling it from a website.
At the time I was a struggling stunt performer in the UK. I had qualified to join what was then the Equity Stunt Register in 2002. So I thought I’d create an ebook explaining how to be a stuntman! I created a sales page, landing page and the ebook itself. See how to sell ebooks on your own website.
I had more than a few problems with this and the politics of the stunt business raised its ugly head. Long story short I abandoned the ebook strategy as I had also found something else. While struggling to make sales of my own ebook I had purchased several courses which offered to teach how to make money online. Read about the courses I took in my digital profit course review. Although I still like the ebook idea, I found something better.
Selling ebooks most definitely isn’t the fastest legit way to make money online. Firstly you need to spend time creating the books, listing them, building websites, sales pages and then of course marketing your website. This was the biggest struggle for me and led me on to learn more about online marketing. This in turn led me down the affiliate marketing route.
Fastest Legit Way To Make Money Online – Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing does get a reaction out of people sometimes if they’ve tried and failed or “knew someone else who tried and failed”. I tried and failed too with affiliate marketing. But I kept failing and failing until I made an online sale. When this happened, I knew it was something worth pursuing.
My ebook was listed for $10 – (dollars because the internet is a global marketing even though I was in the UK). But how many people were interested in becoming a stuntman – seriously?! It was far less than the number of people wanting to make a living online.
So I had put all that work into a product which had very little interest. The ebook “how to be a stuntman” was flawed because I hadn’t done my homework. Not only did I not know how to sell anything online, I had spent a lot of time and effort creating something with a tiny market.
With affiliate marketing on the other hand, here was a business with global appeal. Who doesn’t want to make their income from a laptop while either travelling the world or sitting in their pyjamas while everyone else is slugging it out in a job?
If you’re unsure what affiliate marketing is, it’s basically a business model which lets you earn by selling other people’s products online. The first course I successfully promoted was a “making money” course by a guy called Peter Lexis. He’s no longer around but I followed his course and was able to sell the course he had built. It was selling for around $100 and I made $40 out of a sale.
Types Of Affiliate Marketing
There’s many ways to do affiliate marketing too. Not every strategy offers the fastest legit way to make money online. In fact some ways are ridiculously slow. These were the strategies I used at the start when I first started affiliate marketing as a beginner. I blogged and blogged, I promoted cheap products which only paid peanuts too. I made a lot of mistakes.
I understand why so many people quit affiliate marketing. I understand why so many believe affiliate marketing doesn’t work. But I couldn’t get the idea of an automated income out of my head. I refused to quit, no matter how badly I was failing.
I came to realise that there’s many different affiliate paths. Creating content and promoting low cost physical products is the surest way to go insane. If you want to spend months and years struggling, it’s highly recommended! I did that and it’s not fun! Here’s a quick run down of different types of affiliate products and their commission structures:
Amazon’s affiliate commissions – from 0-11% commissions
Digital products – 40-101% commissions – yes some companies will pay you 101% commission on a product
High ticket products – earn up to 40% commissions on products valued up to $20,000 – that’s $8000 for a single sale.
Multi-tier sales – earn 10% on sales made by your referrals
Subscription products – earn ongoing monthly recurring commissions based on each sale you make
Choose A Strategy
Choose a strategy from the list above that you’d rather spend your time on. Then there’s a range of marketing strategies which affiliate marketers can use:
Blogging
Social media
Organic content
Video marketing
Paid marketing
Email list
Some strategies you can use as an affiliate marketer are much slower than others. But not everyone is alike. Some won’t be able to spend hours every day on their affiliate marketing businesses. If you’re time rich, blogging and creating content might be more suitable than using paid marketing. If you’re stuck in a corporate career desperate to escape, you’ll be more suited to using paid marketing in all likelihood.
This leads us nicely to the fastest legit way to make money online.
The Fastest Legit Way To Make Money Online Through Affiliate Marketing
The best strategies I’ve found online to make money legitimately are through affiliate marketing and by running paid marketing campaigns. Paid campaigns can run fast and are scalable too. With content generation, you can’t easily scale up your efforts and it’s all very time consuming. With paid marketing and a good business model, you can scale up your business very quickly given the marketing budget and a business model which offers multiple earning methods.
The SFM digital business system is the best model I’ve found online to earn from. It gives you multiple earning strategies including:
Subscription based products – earn ongoing commissions from sales you make
Multi-tier commissions – earn from sales made by your referrals
High ticket affiliate products – earn up to 40% commissions on products valued up to $20,000
A built in sales team helps close sales on your behalf too. This means you can focus solely on front end marketing.
To access The SFM Digital business system does take some financial commitment and you can tailor your business according to what you’re prepared to invest. At the top level you can earn commissions on high value products going up to $20,000, ($8000 a sale), but you’ll need to invest in the product yourself in order to earn the 40% levels of commission. You can however still earn 5% commissions on these kinds of products without a huge investment.
Fastest Legit Way To Make Money Online – Summary
I’ve tried all sorts of ways to earn money online over several years. I’ve used Forex marketing, eBay, sold my own ebooks and tried many affiliate marketing strategies and products. Here’s my own take on the fastest legit way to make money online in a nutshell:
In this affiliate marketing blueprint pdf, I’m going to share some of the many trials and tribulations I’ve had over several years as an affiliate marketer. Before I started learning affiliate marketing I had tried many jobs. I had even worked as a stunt performer in film and TV, landing jobs on Xmen First Class, Bad Education and many other TV and film roles.
But the work was sporadic and the constant insecurity of work and numerous jobs I filled in with led me to look for a better solution. Trading time for money in a job always has its limitations; even a dream job like being a stuntman!
I looked to the internet as a means to overcome my financial problems and work instability. First I looked to Forex marketing. My father has showed an interest and bought a course which he let me borrow. After 2 years studying Forex marketing I decided I simply didn’t have the funds needed to keep going. I decided I would return to it when I could afford a trading bank I wasn’t afraid to lose!
Affiliate Marketing Blueprint PDF
I shifted to an eBay business where I could buy and sell items from eBay. You can read about the method I used here. It allowed me to start small and slowly purchase more valuable items to re-sell for profit. But over time I realised that this business model wasn’t going anywhere. Trapped on my computer most of the day, I was only making a small income.
There had to be a better way to earn an income online, I thought. I just didn’t know what it was then. So, I decided to create my own ebook since it was an ebook purchase which led me to the eBay business model. It seemed so simple to sell an ebook over the internet; no physical delivery was necessary. It was just an automated downloadable product. People could buy it online and access it immediately. I just needed to create the book and set up a website – so I thought!
6 months later and I had done a huge amount of work. I’d built a website and created an ebook. But what I didn’t know was how to get people to my website.
Affiliate Marketing Blueprint PDF
So I put myself on a few marketing courses which promised to teach me how to earn money online. The idea to was use the knowledge to sell my own ebooks. However, I soon realised that there was a better way – affiliate marketing.
My own ebook was a short guide to tell people how to become a stuntman! This has a much smaller audience of course than those wanting to learn how to earn online. So I abandoned my “how to be a stuntman” ebook and started learning how to sell other people’s products online instead.
My first major win was with a course offered by a guy names Peter Lexis. I promoted his affiliate course and ran a paid marketing campaign through Google Adwords. Just at the point of starting to increase my marketing budget, I had my Adwords account shut down. I wasn’t to get it back for years.
This was a huge blow and just at the point of getting somewhere. But I carried on and focused for a while on content marketing – a free marketing strategy which I would continue to this day.
Affiliate Marketing Blueprint PDF
Affiliate marketing is an amazing business which can work miracles in your life. But, it can also become a monstrous disaster which can create untold misery too! Ultimately it depends on you. The key to affiliate marketing, as with everything, is to look at the bumps in the road as learning experiences rather than failures.
Stephen McCranie: ‘The master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried.’
As with anything in life, your mindset will determine your outcome before you even begin. Had I known how difficult affiliate marketing would have been, I think I would have attempted it anyway – simply because an easy journey has nothing to teach you. A difficult journey can give you an insight into your self. And this is the beauty of the affiliate journey.
And of course there’s the money too! Most people come into affiliate marketing to make money.
Affiliate Marketing Blueprint PDF – Mistakes I’ve Made
Mistakes can’t be avoided in affiliate marketing. You’re going to make mistakes. But there’s some mistakes you can swerve by getting help. Mistakes are healthy provided you learn from them. Most of affiliate marketing is getting things wrong and learning from them. Over time, you learn to focus on the actions which generate results.
Most affiliates give up too early because they try a few things, nothing happens and they give up. Don’t be that person. Be the one who learns from the “failures”. Don’t see them as failures. See them as feedback and you’re already ahead of many who will drop out.
Affiliate Marketing Blueprint PDF – Business Models
Affiliate marketing can be fraught with problems because there’s so many ways to do it. If you have no direction or help, you can easily spend years finding this out for yourself, as I did! Knowing the right business model is a major key. Without this knowledge, no amount of hard work will help. You have to work hard and smart to make affiliate marketing work for you. You can do this by choosing the right products and the right marketing methods.
Your marketing strategy will depend on your own particular circumstance of course. If you can afford to use paid marketing, do so. But start out carefully and use a good business model. What’s a good model?
Firstly let’s look at a bad business model. Amazon is a place many newbie affiliate marketers start out. Why not? There’s a tonne of product to choose from and lots of possibility to build a niche in almost any area right? But, Amazon only pays affiliates somewhere between 3% and 11% commissions. So if you spend months building a niche website, for example, and it actually works and gets traffic, you’ll still only be earning peanuts from it.
Digital products on the other hand pay much more in terms of commission. In fact most digital products pay affiliates 40%-even 100% commission in some cases. So, if you’re going to work hard, it’s worth working smart too. There’s also high ticket products you should consider too. High ticket items can make you commissions of $1000+ on a single sale.
Why High Ticket Products?
Why use high ticket products? Take a low value physical product for example. Let’s assume you’re selling an item from Amazon and you make a $10 commission based on a $100 price, or 10%. To make $10,000 worth of commissions you’ll need to sell 1000 items.
The equivalent high ticket digital product might be valued at $2500 and give you a 40% commission of $1000. To make $10,000 you’ll need to sell only 10 of these items. Now consider how you’re going to sell 1000 items from Amazon or 10 items of your high ticket digital product.
However you go about it, selling the higher value item makes much more sense. It may be more difficult to sell such an item, but will it be 100 times as difficult? Of course the answer is a resounding no!
High ticket products aren’t the only key which super affiliates use. They also use products which offer recurring commissions.
Recurring Commissions – A Key To Passive Income
High ticket commissions are all well and good. They can help you to achieve a larger income online and offset marketing costs so you can use paid marketing platforms. But recurring commissions are another major key which super affiliates use to make an income online. Recurring commission affiliate programs offer software products and memberships which pay affiliates again and again.
Like using high ticket products, recurring commission products give you an advantage which you don’t get from “one-off” sales. Even a small recurring commission is far better than a single sale over time. A recurring commission can give you a lifetime income. Even a high ticket commission is finite. A recurring commission can go on paying you over decades with the right products.
Multi-tier Affiliate Commissions
Multi-tier affiliate commissions are available on certain products. They are commissions you can earn from sales made by your referrals. Take a look at the SFM digital business system for more on this. The SFM (Six Figure Mentors) offer a product range with a built in sales team. Their digital business system offers:
Recurring commissions to affiliates – through a membership commission
High ticket product range – products ranging from $2500 to $20,000 which offer 40% commission (according to your positioning)
Multi-tier sales – earn from sales made by your referrals
A built in sales team – closing high ticket sales on your behalf.
Traffic – The Major Key To Success Online
Traffic is a major key to success online too. Without traffic you’ll never succeed online. There’s several ways you can get traffic to your affiliate products. With low value products it’s much more difficult because you’ll have less choice as to how you put products in front of people. This is another reason why the above business strategy is a much better option for affiliates.
Without a high ticket funnel, recurring income products or multi-tier sales, it’s more difficult to use paid marketing and still come out with a profit. With low value physical products, you’ll need to focus your efforts on cheap and free marketing methods. This takes much longer to do and is much less scalable than when using paid marketing strategies.
If you’re going down the organic marketing route through, you will need to put some serious time and effort in upfront, before you see any results. This can still be done of course, but is more difficult.
Organic Sales Online
Organic sales online are a wonderful thing when it finally happens. Those affiliate commissions rolling in overnight are simply wonderful. But there’s a lot that goes in before hand which goes unrewarded for a long time. There’s two questions you should ask yourself before creating content for your affiliate products:
Is this person a hungry buyer?
Can I get this content in front of those people?
When the answer is yes to both these questions it’s well worth pursuing. If you’re in doubt, save yourself the time and look for two “yes’s”! Ultimately this comes down to an important part of affiliate marketing – the customer avatar!
With content marketing you’ll likely create a lot of content which doesn’t work. Some will hit and some will miss. But as you learn and get better, you’ll want to focus your efforts on the content which gets sales. That content will work because it’s targeted a specific kind of person and got found.
Your Customer Avatar
The customer avatar is an important part of affiliate marketing. The better you get as an affiliate, the more you’ll focus in on your customer:
Who they are
What they want
Their individual problems and challenges
What they’re searching for online
The kinds of videos and blogs they read
How old they are
Are they a parent?
What interests them
What pains them?
And on an on..
The Email List
Whatever kind of marketing you’re doing, build an email list. With an email list you get people to subscribe and opt in to your list. You can then drip feed emails on a regular basis and keep in touch with your subscriber. This has two huge benefits over just having a website to sell affiliate products from:
You can extend the period of time over which a customer can buy from you – from 10 minutes on a website to months and even years through email marketing
You’ll be able to build trust with many subscribers by offering real value
One people know, like and trust you, they are much more likely to purchase a product from you.
Paid Marketing – The Fastest Route To Building An Income Online
Paid marketing is the fastest route to building a sustainable income online. But you’ll need a great business model like the one discussed earlier in this pdf/ebook. With a business model like The SFM digital business system, you’ll be in a much better position to learn paid marketing strategies with less risk.
Using paid marketing on low value products is very difficult. This is because there’s a learning phase when you’ll spend marketing budget and get nothing back. Over time, through testing and measuring your marketing, you’ll learn what works and what doesn’t work.
The benefit of using paid marketing during this period rather than content creation is that you can cut advertising which doesn’t work. Adverts which work, and make sales you can keep running. With content marketing this process is much slower. You create content and it can take months before you see any results from your efforts. With an advert you get the feedback straight away.
Recap & Resources
There’s a million different ways to do affiliate marketing. You can avoid getting lost down a rabbit hole if you get the right help and advice from the very start and find a mentor.
Choose affiliate products which offer at least one of the following:
High ticket digital products – which pay out at least 40% commissions
Ideally use a training resource which offers all of the above (Click banner below). Use paid marketing if your affiliate business model allows it. Test with a small budget to start and slowly build up your marketing budget.
Biz Opp affiliate programs, (or business opportunity programs) can offer some of the best rates of commission for affiliate marketers. The “making money online” niche can be incredibly lucrative if you can get it to work for you. One of the main problems with this niche though is of course competition. The money online niche is well subscribed by a lot of affiliates. But is affiliate marketing oversaturated in this niche? Of course the answer to this all depends on your marketing strategy.
If you want to build a website around the money making online niche, don’t expect to quickly rank a website for this keyword or any like it. It’s near impossible to do so. But there’s other strategies you can apply to biz opp affiliate programs, especially if they offer a good compensation plan.
Biz Opp Affiliate Programs – The Six Figure Funnel
Having a great business model with an affiliate program is worth its weight in gold. This is for a number of reasons. If, for example you’re selling a single product for a $100 commission, you’ll need to sell a lot of them to replace an existing income.
But if you choose a business model with a product range, high ticket products and recurring commissions, you’ll have a much easier time of it. You’ll also be able to use paid advertising in your marketing efforts. With a lower value product or a single product, it will be much more difficult to use paid marketing and still make a profit.
A good sales funnel should contain:
High ticket digital products – digital products can be sold globally with no postage or handling costs. As such they pay out much larger commissions than physical products ever can.
Recurring commission products – software products and memberships give the affiliate marketer a recurring commission on every product they sell. This soon mounts up over time with many sales.
A product range – affiliates can earn commissions from products bought later on by their referrals, even if it’s years after their initial referral sale.
A built in sales team – closing sales on your behalf.
Multi-tier commissions – these are commissions based on sales made by your referrals.
See SFM Digital business System for more on this model. A digital product range also offer much higher levels of commission than physical products typically do. Comparing Amazon, for example to digital products you can see the commission rates will vary from 3-10% for physical products on Amazon, compared to 30-40% for digital products.
Marketing A Biz Opp Affiliate Program
With a digital business which offers high commissions like the one described above, you can more easily use paid marketing strategies and come out with a profit. With low value items this is much more difficult. Some biz opp affiliate programs don’t offer such a range of products.
With lower value products, or if you’re less invested in the six figure business funnel (and therefore will earn lower commissions), you’ll need to find a marketing strategy which accommodates the lower commission levels.
With many business opportunities niches already bursting at the seams, it’s tough getting found with a small website; especially when you’re competing with the likes of Forbes and moneysavingexpert.com, for example.
Building A Niche Website For A Biz Opp Affiliate Program
One way to advertise a biz opp affiliate program is through a niche website. However, there’s plenty of competing websites for major keywords such as “make money online”, “home based business”, “affiliate marketing for beginners” etc.
You need to find a niche within a niche and delve down to find the keywords which offer much less competition. Here’s an example of a site I built to do exactly that: http://autopilotmoneymakingsoftware.com/. The site was built around the keywords “autopilot money making software”, which has lower competition on Google than say “money making online”, for example.
This can take some time of course but a good place to start is with Google’s keyword planner. Find long tail keywords with low SEO difficulty; (less competition than others). Then create a micro niche affiliate website which targets the main keywords which are less competitive than the others. This website is an example of a micro niche affiliate site in the biz opp affiliate marketing niche. As you can see, this site has been built around the keywords “affiliate marketing mentors“.
See also Create Free Website And Earn Money for more on this strategy. The article will talk you through the building of a niche website starting with keyword research.
Other Marketing Strategies
There’s many other strategies of course for marketing an affiliate program. Depending on your particular program and the commissions it offers you can use any number of the following marketing tactics:
Adwords – Google’s search marketing platform
YouTube – Pay for people to see your video advert
Facebook – Facebook lets you target potential customers by multiple demographics much like YouTube
Bing – offers a similar platform to Adwords
Instagram
Linkedin
Many more social marketing platforms.
Blogging
V’logging – video blogging
Link Building & SEO – (search engine optimisation)
You can also use many social media platforms to market your affiliate business for free. See free traffic source strategies for more information on free marketing strategies.
Affiliate marketing can be done in many ways but it’s a good idea to at least have some subscription products in your product inventory. Subscription products pay you again and again; whereas one time sales only pay you for making each individual sale.
If you’re investing in a biz op affiliate program – that is an opportunity which offers the ability to promote a high value product range as an affiliate, it’s worth choosing wisely. A good high value sales funnel is worth investing in, particularly if it can earn you large ticket commissions for sales you have generated.
You’ll also want access to other high ticket earners who have already trodden the path to success with this kind of business model, and a step by step modular process which anyone can follow.
You can access such a business system here, or by clicking the image below.
What are the highest paying affiliate niches and what’s a niche anyway? A niche is a topic or area in which you can build an information resource. Most niche bloggers for example will choose a topic they are familiar with before starting to build content for their blog/website.
Many will tell you the best niches are the evergreen niches. These are topics which are in demand all year round. Some of the top “evergreen” niches are money and finance, health and wellness, dating and relationships, fitness, pets, investment, self improvement, gadgets and hobby niches.
These kinds of niche topic get interest all year round. If you choose a niche which is only popular only at a certain time, you’ll only be able to monetise at certain times of the year. Examples of this are seasonal niches such as Christmas and other festival related topics, vegetable growing or harvesting.
Highest Paying Affiliate Niches – The Problem With High Paying Niches
The main problem with high paying niches which are evergreen is that there’s a lot of competition for them. Even though these niches offer the best amount of traffic and interest, that doesn’t translate into every affiliate succeeding in these niches. In fact most won’t make it because of the competition.
Whether you build a blog, a niche website or choose to build a YouTube channel, you’re going to come up against a lot of competition. So it can be a good idea to choose your niche wisely before starting. Ideally, identify something you can stick at for some time. Don’t choose something you’re not passionate about. It’s much more difficult to sustain the level of work needed to keep ahead of the competition if you do.
Highest Paying Affiliate Niches – The Six Figure Funnel
The SFM Mentors offers a high paying affiliate marketing funnel like the one pictured above. Their product range is based around helping affiliate marketers build online businesses from scratch. The money making online niche is incredibly competitive however, so it can be a difficult nut to crack – especially if you’re looking to build a niche resource and market your niche for free.
However, the higher ticket products in the sales funnel mean you can use paid marketing platforms to build your business. With lower value products to sell it’s much more difficult using paid marketing and making a profit. See also highest paying affiliate programs list.
If you have a hobby website or a sports related niche, there’s a lot of scope for expensive equipment you can promote as an affiliate.
Electric bikes,
Golf carts, clubs and accessories
Drones
Camping equipment
Building A Niche Website For Your High Paying Affiliate Niche
Depending on the products you choose to promote, you may choose a variety of different marketing strategies. A popular choice for an affiliate niche is a niche website. With a niche website you can build your site around a specific topic. One way to create a niche website is to choose a specific keyword which related to your product or service.
This can give you an advantage when it comes to ranking your website on Google and the other search engines. As you can see, this site (Affiliatemarketingmentorsonline.com) has some keywords within the domain name. For more information on this see create free website and earn money.
Recurring Income Products
Recurring commission affiliate programs can be even better than some very high payout products. That’s because with recurring commissions you can sell an item once and keep earning from your referral. Although the recurring income is usually quite small, once you start getting sales, it can soon mount up.
Recurring income products are often those affiliate marketers will use themselves. These are good to choose because once an affiliate is earning from their online business, they will need these products to keep their business going. These kinds of product therefore offer a lifetime value to their subscribers (and to the affiliates who sell them):
Choosing your niche may very well be the most important decision in your affiliate business. Should you choose a topic you’re unfamiliar with it can be so much more difficult to build content around that particular topic. I made this mistake with a website about harvesting garlic. Not only did I know nothing of my topic when I started, but also this was a seasonal niche and one which was difficult to monetise!
Still, I was excited by the idea of making money from a website! So I set off with high expectations! I worked hard creating lots of posts on the topic. But I had to research every post I wrote because I knew nothing about harvesting garlic! Within 6 months I had had enough and gave up. Shortly after, my site dropped off the search results and was replaced by another site; someone who actually loved this topic!
It was a year of wasted energy but it taught me a valuable lesson. Choose something you care about!
With such a sales funnel your options for marketing are vastly increased. With lower paying items it’s much more difficult to monetise while using paid marketing strategies; so your marketing strategies will be more limited. In terms of high paying affiliate niches, there’s many. But to get the required traffic is a huge consideration and one which is usually underestimated. Free traffic is very difficult to obtain and requires a lot of work upfront. Paid traffic is of course expensive but with the right products can be a much more viable option for most affiliate starting out.

What is high ticket affiliate marketing? A high ticket product is one with a much larger price tag than most others. Most affiliates, like myself, start out using low value products like those you’d find on Amazon. I started with Amazon and promoted items from their partner program. Anyone can join this program and promote products for a percentage of the sale value. But with most products from Amazon you’ll only earn 3%-11% commission.
With a product like a microwave oven worth $61.99, you’ll only earn 4.5% under the kitchen category. That’s $2.70 in commission. With a strategy like this you’ll have to sell a lot of items to make a full time living and replace an existing job. But with high ticket affiliate marketing, it’s a different story.
What Is High Ticket Affiliate Marketing?
A digital product which is worth over $1000 is an example of a high ticket affiliate product. There’s also physical products too which are worth a lot for affiliates. Look at Hammacher Schlemmer, an online store which sells high value physical products and pays its affiliates around 8% commission.
Although that doesn’t sound very much, on an expensive item like the golf cart hovercraft, you’ll earn $4640 for referring the sale. That’s a lot better than you’d get from referring a low value Amazon product, even at the same commission levels.
Digital product though, are the best bet for affiliates. With many digital products affiliate marketers can earn up to 40%+ commissions. Digital products also give you other earning opportunities too such as recurring commissions. With a recurring commission affiliate product, you can sell an item once and keep earning for the lifetime of the customer. Sell many items and you’ll start seeing an ongoing increase in your monthly earnings through recurring incomes.
What Is High Ticket Affiliate Marketing – The Six Figure Mentors
The Six Figure Mentors affiliate program is one of the best in terms of commission structure. The SFM offers multiple high ticket digital products from which you can earn 40% commissions. See SFM Digital Business System for details.
At the top end you can sell a $20,0000 product and earn a cool 40% or $8000! Their high ticket products are digital training courses and live events. They help people learn the strategies to earn online through affiliate marketing.
In order to qualify for the highest levels of commissions however, you’ll need to partner with the company. You can still use the multiple affiliate programs which the SFM offers. The entry level product (Mentors-All-in) gives you access to a 101% commission on the product itself. You can make $100 commission on a sale of a $99 product. This perhaps isn’t a high ticket sale as such, but it’s a very high level of commission for a low priced product.
After the Mentors-All-In product the SFM offers the Elite Influence package which gives more personal tuition and access to a number of trainings and live events. You can also earn $1000 commission on a $2500 product once you position yourself at this level. See Six Figure Mentors Elite for more information and Six Figure Mentors Cost.
Best High Ticket Products To Use
The SFM offers the best high ticket products to use for a number of reasons. It offers:
A number of high ticket products from which you can earn large commissions
Recurring commission products – subscription products give you ongoing income from each sale, rather than a single commission
Training and education through their digital mentors programs
A built in sales team – helping you by closing sales on your behalf and answering members questions
Multi-tier commissions – earn commissions based on sales made by your referrals.
A product range – each product offers more value than the last. This means you can refer a member once and benefit from later purchases they make – even if they are made years apart.
A high ticket product range gives you many opportunities to earn and allows you to use more expensive paid marketing platforms. With low value products, and physical products which only pay out 3-11% commissions, you’ll need to create sales through free (or very cheap) marketing strategies. There’s huge competition for free organic traffic and this can be a long term and time consuming strategy.
With paid marketing strategies and a high ticket sales funnel, you can recoup your advertising spend more easily (and make a profit) through the multiple earning strategies available through a high value product range.
What Is High Ticket Affiliate Marketing – Final Thoughts
With a low value product like a watch from Amazon, for example, you can earn 7% commission. Let’s say the watch is valued at $100. You make $7 for each sale. To make $1000 you’ll need to sell 143 watches. With a high valued product like SFM’s Elite Influence product, you can earn 40% commission on a $2500 sale. That’s $1000 per sale.
Many people assume that it’s much harder to sell a $2500 product online. But in order to make the same money, you’ll need to sell 143 watches at the lower value commission rate. Do you think it’s 143 times as difficult to sell the larger value item?
In fact, the same strategies can be used to sell high ticket items as with low value products. But you have an added advantage with high value affiliate products because you’re able to use paid marketing more effectively. With a $7 commission it’s very hard to run a paid advert and still make a profit. But with a $1000 commission it’s much more realistic.

What do affiliate marketers do? If you’ve heard of affiliate marketing you’ll already know that it’s a way to earn an income by promoting other people’s products on the internet.
Affiliates recommend products and if they make a sale they earn a commission based on that sale. There’s many ways affiliate marketers can actually do this and not every affiliate uses the same strategies. Some will create niche websites, others will use paid marketing strategies. Some affiliates earn a part time income and others earn huge six and even seven figure incomes.
What Do Affiliate Marketers Do?
To make sales, and earn commissions affiliate marketers must put products in front of the the right people. Since people are buying products from the internet all the time, the job of affiliate is to become the person in between the customer and the product.
They can do this in many different way, the mains ones being:
Create written content – many affiliates create content by writing a blog or building website, just like this one. If someone purchases a product from my website, or signs up to my email list and purchases a product, I make a commission.
Create videos – a lot of affiliates don’t blog but create videos and upload them to YouTube. As their subscriber base and following grows they make more money from their recommendations over time.
Run paid marketing campaigns – many affiliates don’t want to spend heaps of time building content and opt for the paid marketing route instead. This can be a much faster way to build an online business.
Find suitable people for customers on Social Media platforms – another strategy affiliates might use is to connect with others through social media channels in order to build relationships and promote their products.
Affiliates build email lists – most successful affiliate marketers have an email list. They can send out useful content to their subscribers to help them with a topic which relates to their products.
What Do Affiliate Marketers Do?
As a beginner affiliate, you’ll be wearing your “student” cap for a while. This stage of the affiliate journey is spent researching affiliate programs and looking for training courses. You can sign up to the website and get a free video series to checkout my recommended mentors.
It’s well worth spending some time in this stage because the deeper your learning is, the better chance that you’ll take the right action steps later on. If you rush into affiliate marketing, as I did, you’ll find lots of problems.
Much like starting a new restaurant business, you wouldn’t buy the nearest building and just cook the food you already have in your kitchen. Your business would be doomed if you went about a new business this way. But many newbie affiliates do exactly this with affiliate marketing. They rush in and have problems because they don’t have the ground work in place.
So, it’s important for new affiliates to get the right training and educate themselves about affiliate marketing business models and strategies for marketing their products. This takes time and many drop out far to easily.
What Affiliate Marketers Do
Initially there’s some set up you’ll need to do in order to build a sales funnel. While some affiliates do everything by themselves, this is a much more difficult route. With the right program, you’ll get a fully stocked out sales funnel which contains products you can sell straight away. The SFM digital business system, you’ll be walked through the set up process in 7 step by step modules.
Once your sales funnel is set up and ready to go, you’ll need to turn your attention to the marketing side of things.
With the right business system, affiliate marketers can focus solely on marketing and allow an automated sales funnel to do the selling and promotion for them.
The Difficult Bit
In the first instance affiliates will set up a sales funnel, an autoresponder and a website and landing pages. This can be done through the SFM back office once you become a member.
Once this is all set up, and this can be done within a few days, you’ll need to learn marketing. Marketing your sales funnel involves targeting an audience and sending them to a landing page or website where they can sign up and enter your sales funnel.
This is the stage where many affiliates simply give up! But don’t! Marketing is the key to affiliate marketing. Without a marketing campaign affiliates will never make any sales or earn any money. So even with the best sales funnel in the world, it will just sit there collecting (digital) dust if you don’t send people into it.
Marketing can consist of many things. Any time someone clicks on a link of yours and goes into the sales funnel (by entering their email and name), you can consider it a form of marketing. Or they can also click on an affiliate link and directly purchase a product too.
Marketing at first can be very difficult because the affiliate will be learning what works and what doesn’t work. As a beginner this can be a frustrating time because most of what you do won’t work. Only after a lot of trial and effort can you determine which actions produce the best outcome. Once you get to this point, if you don’t give up before you reach it, you’re in a great position to focus on what works!
Why Affiliates Build Email Lists
From a website you can also directly link to many affiliate products from around the internet. However, the lifespan of a website visitor is much shorter than that of an email subscriber.
Once you get someone to subscribe to your email list, you can keep in touch with them for months or even years. On a website, someone only has a few minutes before they click away and are gone forever.
So with an email list, you have a lot more opportunity for building a relationship with your subscribers and making a sale. Some people will purchase from your email list even years after signing up to it.
Once Your Affiliate Business Shifts Gears
In the initial start up process affiliate marketing seems very difficult. There’s a lot to be done for little in return. But as you start making sales and seeing what works, you can focus on the actions which produce the largest results. This is the 80/20 principle or Pareto’s principle. It states that 80% of the outcome/consequences comes from only 20% of the causes.
Within affiliate marketing this is very important and once you determine which results produce the outcomes you want, you can place your attention there. As a beginner, you won’t know which actions give you the results you’re looking for, so it can seem like a difficult business.
But stick with it long enough and you can see some fantastic results for work you’ve done previously. Affiliate marketing can give you a passive income over time, which is pretty amazing when it happens.
What Do Affiliate Marketers Do – Keyword Research
Whether an affiliate marketer uses organic content to reach their audience or paid marketing, many affiliates will do keyword research. For this article, for example, I looked up this keyword “what do affiliate marketers do” to get an idea of how many people searched this exact phrase every month. As you can see in the image below, there’s only 30 searches per month for this keyword. But since my site is about affiliate marketing, I’ve been on the lookout for related keywords to write content about.
Once I’ve found a keyword which I like, I look on Google with a phrase search to see how likely I am to rank my article for this particular keyword.
The I do a open search too to see the number of results. This phrase comes in at just over 11 million which breaks my rule of less than 10million. However, I wanted to write on this topic for my email campaign to give some more information to my subscribers. So I thought I’d give it a go and see if I could rank! I might not make it onto Google but we shall see!
Affiliate Marketing Goals
It’s worth mentioning why affiliate marketers do all this too. Without that context this seems like an awful lot of work! Ultimately an affiliate business can give you complete time and financial freedom. But many affiliates work very hard to escape their jobs and be financially independent or self employed.
I like writing so blogging suits me and I enjoy the benefits of achieving a listing on Google, getting free leads and making sales from my content. Unless you enjoy the process of learning and implementing the skills though, affiliate marketing can be a lot of hard work. So it’s important to go into it with your eyes open.
Blogging isn’t the only way to do affiliate marketing and there’s much faster and easier ways if you have the money. When I became an affiliate, I was time rich and money poor, so I developed a habit for writing a blog.
What Else Do Affiliate Marketers Do – Tracking
Affiliate marketers track all their sales and leads. That way they can focus on the areas which are working for them once they get the data.
Initially though you’ll be doing a lot of things, testing and measuring what works and what doesn’t work. Once you start getting website traffic and leads (email subscribers), you’ll have some data to base your actions on. When you make sales you’ll want to track them back to an action you performed previously. Without doing so means you won’t know which tasks brought in the sale.
Tracking in the basic form simply means knowing where your sales came from. When you understand how you’ve made a sale, you’ll be able to repeat it again and again by focusing on the acton/s which brought it in.
Training & Webinars
If you’re lucky enough to find an online community of affiliates, you’ll be able to join trainings and webinars and mastermind with other business owners.
Ongoing training and development is key to any business venture. Your business can’t outgrow the level of thinking you bring to it. So if you’re stuck in your business in some way, changing your approach is key to breaking through to the next level. Limiting beliefs and underlying attitudes of limitation, lack or poverty can severely hamper your business growth.
So it’s useful to connect with other people who challenge your thinking and behaviour. If you’re going to build an affiliate business it’s well worth joining an online community who can help you do so.
With the millions of affiliates out there, it’s no wonder people are asking “is affiliate marketing saturated?”
Is there any chance for new affiliate marketers who enter such a competitive industry? After all, what chance have they got when there’s millions already out there? Is it worth a shot? Should you “give it a try?”
Is Affiliate Marketing Saturated?
Affiliate marketing is a broad term. An “affiliate” can be anyone who joins an affiliate program in order to promote someone else’s product or service online. Not all affiliates become successful; but there’s many millions of people who fall into the affiliate category. Many give up before they even create any content or even get started. Why is this?
The affiliate marketing industry has for years perpetuated the myth that making money online with affiliate marketing is easy. Anyone can earn an “easy income” with little work, so they have said! Not true!
Is Affiliate Marketing Saturated – Regulations
Affiliate companies nowadays are not allowed to make earnings claims. Tighter regulations in this industry have clamped down on this kind of behaviour. This is most definitely a good thing for affiliate marketing. It has levelled out the playing field and made it a more professional industry. GDPR (general data protection regulation) was made by the European Parliament in May 2018 and affected many affiliates. Affiliates operating within the EU have to declare their use of data they collect from website visitors.
Google too has had a say in the affiliate marketing industry. Back in the early 2000’s you could throw up a website and get it ranked on Google. Small three-page websites could gain massive traffic. Affiliate marketers were making very good money with little work, if they knew what to do. Along came Panda and Penguin. They were Google algorithm changes which disrupted low quality, spammy affiliate websites. People who had been earning massive incomes were suddenly out of the game altogether – going back to their day jobs.
Is Affiliate Marketing Saturated? Barriers To Entry
One of the main problems with affiliate marketing, and one reason why people think it is oversaturated is the low barrier to entry. A traditional bricks and mortar business wouldn’t expect to be in profit immediately on opening. In most cases, businesses will run for 1-3 years at a loss and only recoup their initial investments after this time, gaining profit slowly.
But with affiliate marketing for some reason people assumed they will be profitable straight away. This, in part was due to the marketing surrounding affiliate training products.
Many training courses claimed that you could make easy money without much effort. This, and the low cost to start an affiliate business (e.g. a $100 course), means that almost anyone worldwide can participate. But joining a course doesn’t make someone an affiliate marketer – they just paid for a course! They are a consumer, not an affiliate marketer!
The real competition for new affiliates depends on which route they decide to choose in their affiliate marketing journey.
Is Affiliate Marketing Saturated – Over saturation Or Competition?
An oversaturated market doesn’t allow for new competition coming in. It’s true that ranking a website on Google is much tougher today than it was even 10 years ago. But that doesn’t mean affiliate marketing is saturated. If you’re a newbie and want to rank a website and promote Forex marketing affiliate products on Google, you’re going to be out of luck! You’ll have more chance finding an one armed, unicycling fire juggler!
The “making money online” niche too, is incredibly competitive. To get your content ranking on Google, or even YouTube will be very difficult. But affiliate marketing isn’t limited to these topics and affiliate businesses aren’t limited to ranking content for free either!
There’s many ways in which affiliates get their products in front of potential customers:
Paid marketing – Google Adwords, Bing, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin the list goes on. Can all of these platforms be oversubscribed?!
Organic marketing – content creation is a free method for generating sales online as an affiliate marketer. Blogging, Social media marketing, Video, content creation etc.
Plus there’s millions of topics within affiliate marketing too. In order to get your content ranked on Google for free you need to choose topics which are less competitive. In order to use paid marketing, you need to carefully choose your products accordingly, so you’ll be able to make a profit.
How To Be A Successful Affiliate
In order to have a chance at earning a realistic income from affiliate marketing, you have to do things in a certain way. There’s many ways to fail, as in life. But getting the right knowledge will set you up for success.
One of the problems with affiliate marketing is that people are impatient. They think that they can throw up a website and suddenly earn an income from it. It’s true that an affiliate business can earn an income quite quickly. But so many affiliates, me included, run into it as if it’s going to happen tomorrow. This is why many fail.
With a bricks and mortar business, you wouldn’t grab the nearest building and throw up a restaurant with no clue how or what kind of food you’re going to serve. It’s a recipe (no pun intended) for disaster! But with affiliate marketing so many people do exactly this. They rush in expecting great things to happen immediately and then give up when nothing does! I did it too!
Likewise when building a block of flats you wouldn’t start placing bricks until the foundations were laid. Laying the foundations of affiliate marketing is key. It’s what your affiliate business will be built on.
Different Affiliate Business Models
There’s multiple strategies to generate sales within an affiliate business. Many affiliate marketers join Amazon’s partner program and attempt to find visitors through building a website.
There’s a big problem with this strategy, especially for new affiliates. There really is huge competition on Google for certain keywords and topics. Added to this, you’ve also got Google recommending products right at the top of the search engines. Here’s the view I got when searching for “buy spotlight”, for example.
As you can see Google dominates the results at the top of the page for this search. As an affiliate for Amazon, unless you have a fairly obscure product, you’ll likely be facing this kind of competition moving forwards.
Then there’s all the paid advertiser listings appearing in front of yours. And of course let’s not forget Amazon’s website itself; which will likely rank at or near the top of the organic listings.
So if you’re attempting this strategy you need to position yourself so that you’ll get traffic. Otherwise you’re out of luck. It’s not therefore other affiliates who are positioning you out of business; it’s Google and paid marketers who are doing it – with this strategy at least!
Review Sites
Review websites used to be a good method for affiliate marketers to use too. My first affiliate sale came from a review article I wrote on a website building software back in the early 2000’s. But many large companies now have reviews on their own websites – including Amazon.
There’s still room for review websites but you’ll need to pick your topic carefully. If you choose the less competitive topics you’ll have more luck getting your content noticed. See my Six Figure Mentor’s review.
Paid Marketing
Affiliates can also use paid marketing strategies although this requires you to have a good business model. It’s very difficult promoting low value products from the likes of Amazon and using paid marketing. Amazon’s commissions are pretty low (3%-11% commissions). Ideally choose digital products which offer recurring commissions instead. With digital products you can earn 40%+ commissions.
Using A Digital Product Range
A digital product range can give you the best chance of success as an affiliate marketer. With low value products and trying to get content found in a competitive niche is tough. Instead, invest in a digital product range which gives you multiple earning strategies. By doing so this means you have more opportunities for marketing.
With low value items, you’re stuck using only free or cheap marketing methods which are competitive and difficult. It can still be done of course but you’ll have your work cut out.
Building content and keeping going is very difficult, especially when you don’t see anything for your efforts for a long time. Most will quit given this situation.
Ideally use all these strategies to give yourself the best chance as an affiliate:
Subscription products – offer recurring commissions on items you sell
A range of products – lets you earn commissions from existing customers when they purchase another product in a range
Multi-tier sales – allow you to earn commissions based on sales made by your referrals
Use digital products not physical products – digital products cost less to deliver and manufacture. Savings are passed to affiliates who can earn 40%+ commissions
Use high value digital products – high ticket items give you more income potential and help you to offset marketing costs.
Hopefully you can see that there’s many ways to skin a cat within the affiliate marketing business. Not all affiliates are successful and most quit before they even reach 1000 subscribers on their email list. This means that even though there are millions who “give it a go”, most don’t actually follow through and become full time affiliates. Affiliate success today is built on effort and attitude, not price. Arguably this is a higher entry barrier than cost alone, keeping affiliate numbers down.
Google is constantly improving improving their algorithm’s to give the end user the best possible experience with their search queries. This means that unless the affiliate has the same end in mind, they’ll fall by the wayside. And many do!
Quality is therefore very important for affiliates if they are going to succeed online in today’s marketplace. Those who “dip their toe in” because they think it’s easy will be disappointed. They will quit.
For the serious person who wants to make a full or even part time living from affiliate marketing there’s plenty of room! So long as you don’t think it will be easy and are prepared to roll up your sleeves and work at it, there are great rewards.

The best digital marketing mentors are the ones who are a good fit for you and your business. Not all businesses are alike. Not all business owners are alike. So, the best digital marketing mentors are those which you can trust and and are a good fit for you.
are looking to build an online business. (Even if you have nothing to sell.)
The SFM also offers an all in one business system which anyone can use to earn an income from the internet.
Best Digital Marketing Mentors
I met Stuart Ross and Jay Kubassek during a Momentum training day in 2014 in London. They taught me a number of marketing strategies which I used to both build an online business and to build my existing kung fu business. See online marketing mentor for more on this.
For me, Stuart and Jay’s community offered the best digital marketing mentors because they offered training on multiple marketing strategies and platforms. When I started out I was solely focused on blogging as a marketing strategy. I soon realised that I could easily use and afford other strategies which would bring far faster and better results than blogging alone.
Prior to finding an online marketing mentor I was worried about incurring large costs and wasting money with online advertising. But it’s easy to limit your daily budget with many online advertising platforms to a level you’re happy with while you learn.
Best Digital Marketing Mentors – Adwords
Different businesses require a different approach to marketing. For many, Google Adwords offers one of the best platforms to advertise with. They offer a search targeted marketing platform. To use Adwords you specify which specific keywords are suitable for your own particular business. Your adverts will only show when someone types those keywords (or keywords containing them) into the search engine (Google).
This is a super targeted way to advertise your business online. Plus you can limit your daily budget to a very low amount according to your budget.
Digital Marketing Using Facebook
Facebook is another platform which is fantastic for businesses. With Facebook I was able to target my martial arts school using a 10 mile radius. You’re also able to target people people by age, sex, interests and a number of other demographics.
This is fantastic for businesses because it means they can get very targeted with their advertising. By focusing on the specific people who are most likely to purchase their product, or use their services, business owners can save money on wastage and target their most likely potential customers.
Getting clear on who it is that you serve as a business is key. When you know precisely who your perfect customer is and what they look like, you’ll have a clearer understanding of how to find them with online marketing.
Why Use Mentors?
It’s worth getting access to digital marketing mentors for a number of reasons:
You’ll get access to webinars and seminars to help grow your online business
A mentor can help you learn technical strategies to build your own marketing campaigns
You’ll be able to access masterminds and work with other business owners who are going through similar problems to you
You’ll be able to connect with other business owners who will hold you accountable and help you grow personally and professionally.
Access An All In One Online Business & Mentorship Program

An online marketing mentor can help you build your own existing business, or even build an online business from scratch. Before I found an online marketing mentor I bought several courses promising to teach me how to make money online.
Unfortunately most of them failed in this promise, or at least, I failed to make money from their advice. But, I did learn a number of strategies which proved useful. However, it wasn’t until 2014 when I found an online affiliate marketing mentorship program that things really turned around for me. At the time I was running a failing Kung Fu school and I used the education to learn about how to market my school.
Online Marketing Mentor – Struggling Business
I used Facebook targeting, Google Places for business and a few other strategies to advertise my school. Within a year I had more than doubled my class! An online marketing mentor is not only there to show you the strategies to advertise a business, but they will also remind you how your thinking affects your business.
Most businesses will fall short because a business can never outgrow the thinking of the owner. So, unless you’re growing personally and changing the way you think into your business, chances are it could be massively improved. I had some serious limited thinking which I brought to my Kung Fu school.
Firstly I was expecting people to come to my class without even advertising it. Word of mouth advertising is all well and good if it works. But unfortunately you can’t control it apart from being good at what you do and offering a great service. But if no one knows about your service they won’t come running just because you think you’re awesome!
Secondly I was running my business how I used to train while learning. I was great at being the technician in the martial art and training very hard. I was less good at imparting the knowledge to my students and organising this knowledge into an encouraging learning format.
In The E Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber he talks about this same problem for many employees transitioning into building their own businesses. Many get stuck in the mindset of working their business just how they used to work as an employee! But it doesn’t work. As a business owner, you’re no longer employed to do what you’re good at (and perhaps like doing). Your job is to make the business work – to make it profitable.
Online Marketing Mentor – Changing Your Thinking
It’s all well and good learning some marketing tactics; but if your thinking is still limited your business growth will be limited too. Many who transition from employee to entrepreneur see their own business as an escape from the chains of employment.
But without changing their mindset, they could quite easily find themselves running old mental programs and doing the very things which used to work for them as an employee. However, that doesn’t necessarily translate into helping them build a profitable business. That’s a different set of skills.
This is why a good online marketing mentor will help you both with your technical problems and with your mindset issues which you may not be able to see for yourself. In reality, the technical difficulties are far easier to overcome!
Online Marketing Mentor – Types Of Marketing
Every business is different so you’ll need to choose a marketing strategy (and business) which suits your needs. An online business mentor can help you decide which strategy is best for you. However, ultimately you’ll need to choose based on your advertising budget and type of business. A physical business will be advertised differently than an online business too.
Free Marketing Strategy
One of the best marketing strategies for a physical business is Google Places for business, or Google My Business. This is a free listing that any business can set up as long as they can verify a physical business address. Of course online businesses can use this service too if they are running from a specific physical location. However it doesn’t offer the same advantage for internet based businesses because the search will only show up locally.
Blogging
Blogging is another tool a business can use in its marketing “box”. This is a slow but cheap way to get your business found on the search results and bring new customers in.
Email Marketing
If you also encourage your website visitors to sign up to some “freebie” on your site, you’ll be able to get them onto your email list.
From there you can keep in touch with them and potentially build a relationship to sell to them down the road. With an email list, you can massively improve your sales rate over time because you can maintain contact with people who would have only visited your website for 10 minutes – potentially never to return.
Facebook Marketing
I used Facebook marketing to help build up my Kung Fu school. Many marketing platforms allow the business owner to target very specifically the kind of person who would be best suited to their business. With a local business you can target people by age and location as well as interests and preferences. For my school I targeted only people within a 10 mile radius of the school location. With laser focused targeting your keep your marketing costs down and acquire customers for very little once you understand your customer “avatar”.
Your customer “avatar” is what your perfect customer looks like down to their every detail:
Age
Sex
Interests
Location
Job
Family
Interests
Pains
Problems
Relationship status
With marketing platforms gathering so much data on their users, marketers can now target people with extreme precision. This is great for marketers because they can aim their marketing at the people who are most likely to value and purchase their particular products. You can even use Google or Facebook’s artificial intelligence to help you find these people in a number of ways:
Cross matching user data with other similar people
Retargeting people who have interacted with your advertising or website
Optimising your adverts for the lowest cost
Letting algorithms decide who to show your adverts to based on previous data.
