Guaranteed SEO Results

Nearly every week I get an email from someone offering guaranteed SEO results. The problem is no one can legitimately offer you a “top” listing on Google, especially for competitive keywords. For your specific business name, or your actual name perhaps it’s possible, or even for your domain name. But in reality there’s so much competition online, most of these SEO “experts” are lying to you!

Emails start with “I like what you’re doing your site looks great, but….” and then go into how they can help me with their “expertise“! I’m not saying that all these companies are bogus, there are some actual legitimate companies doing this, but many of them over promise on something which is impossible to achieve.

Take this one which is the typical type of spammy email I get:

Nowadays if I see some highlighted script (this script seems common), I simply ignore! A bit of flattery gets you everywhere and many of these email start out with flattery! “You have a great design and it looks great” is my particular favourite!

Guaranteed SEO Results

I’ve worked on SEO for some time and many people know it’s a vague and ambiguous area. You can get amazing results with SEO but there’s always a limit as to what can be done. Many individuals have tapped into the vagueness of the SEO strategist’s remit and used it to bamboozle unaware website owners. So beware! That being said, I do use an SEO company which I recommend. One of my personal favourite strategies is to build SEO sites which rank on Google (and other search engines) for their main keywords. This website is such an example. Here’s one way to potentially rank your website for it’s target keywords.

Here’s my strategy.

Guaranteed SEO Results

Of course it should go without saying that any SEO strategy doesn’t guarantee results! SEO is an ongoing process and there’s many variables to consider such as relative competition, back links, content quality and volume of content.

More about this strategy is available in my other blog post “how to rank an affiliate website“. But here’s a quick overview.

  • Choose a keyword to build a site around – find one with low competitiveness but which also gets monthly traffic
  • Buy a domain name with your keyword in it
  • Build your content using your “seed” keyword and Google’s keyword planner to find long tail keyword derivatives

This is a strategy which I’ve had some success with but it really does depend on your keyword research and of course the quality of your content. If you pick a very competitive keyword, which has a tonne of competition, you’ll need to work considerably harder at building your site than with a low competition niche.

Long Tail Keywords In Blog Posts

The best way to rank your blog post on Google is to use a long tail keyword which offers very little competition on Google. Short tail keywords are much more difficult to rank for. If I was to try and rank my site for “affiliate marketing” for example, I would have to work on building thousands of back links and creating a huge authority site. I would have many sites to compete against such as Neil Patel’s site, for example. His site has been around for years and he’s managed to build thousands of incoming links to it for high authority sites. To compete with this kind of monster is very difficult, no matter how hard you work at it.

So it’s far better to find long tail keyword combination instead of going for the short term competitive keywords which are nearly impossible to compete with.

Finding low competition long tail keywords is a possible answer to this problem.

Use An SEO Plugin

One of the simplest ways you can improve your SEO rankings is with a plugin called Yoast SEO. See also best free blog plugins for WordPress. Yoast SEO helps you optimise your content by reminding you of all the elements which need attention. These are simple things like putting your keywords within your content:

  • Headings
  • Sub Headings
  • Content text
  • Image alt attributes
  • Etc.

With a plugin you can optimise all your on-site SEO quite easily. You can also enlist the help of softwares which help you optimise off-site SEO. SEM Rush is such a company and they can help you optimise your site for multiple SEO elements including on-site and off-site. Off site SEO includes elements like back links and social share links.

Summary

Guaranteed SEO results only materialise after quite a bit of on site and off site optimisation. SEO is a slow burner and unfortunately this can mean some companies will take advantage of people, knowing that they won’t see a dramatic change for several months. After which time they have already taken your money! So beware of these companies. Do some of your own SEO by getting a free SEO plugin. The companies I recommend are SEM Rush and The Hoth, both of which I’ve used.
